What We Do

Earth Overshoot is dedicated to redefining the narrative that our environmental catastrophes are exclusively linked to managing resource consumption. We act as an agent of change for our fellow environmental organizations, our governments and the global community-at-large to recognize that getting people to reduce their consumption is important, but has been proven to be far more difficult and ultimately ineffective in slowing or reducing humanity's increasing demand on nature, and that a successful and complete approach requires an honest assessment of both consumption and population levels.

How do we do this?

We serve as a conduit between the public and local, state and federal representatives to drive policies that recognize both consumption and population’s impacts on our planet’s sustainability.

We work with like-minded organizations to generate the public and political will to make ecological limits the center of all decision-making.
